a great deal more than an art break
PAUL WEAVER May 9 – 14 2027
‘Capture the Atmosphere of Norfolk in Watercolour’
Paul Weaver began his creative career in the graphic design and illustration industry, working for several leading design consultancies and publishers for 25 years. Bringing this experience and discipline to his painting practice, he has been a successful full-time artist, tutor and demonstrator for the last 20 years.
His primary inspirations are light and atmospheric effects. Townscapes, markets and the bustle of the city are favourite subjects, as well as landscape, marine and coastal scenes. He specialises in watercolour, but also enjoys working in oils, acrylic and line and wash.
Paul has exhibited successfully for many years and won several awards. He is an elected member of the Pure Watercolour Society, a regular contributor to 'The Artist' magazine and a demonstrator for Bromley’s Art Supplies and St Cuthbert's Mill.
Paul is an enthusiastic and encouraging teacher and will be working in watercolour during his course at Big Sky Art. He is a firm believer in the benefits of working directly from the subject whenever possible, whatever your level of experience, and will be painting en plein air as well as in the Studio. He aims to balance group demos with individual tuition and guidance, with the focus on helping students develop their confidence and take creative ownership of their own subjects and paintings.
His primary aim is to pass on the skills of good drawing, design and the fundamental watercolour principles, helping students get the best from the subject and their painting experience.
