We will send you a copy of these notes, which will be fully updated to conform to national guidelines. Spare copies will be available at our reception desk on arrival.

Arrival at The White House

Guests will give be allotted staggered arrival times. Room keys and a comprehensive information pack in individual envelopes will be available to collect on the reception desk in the main hallway.

Social distancing

Guests must comply with the 2m social distancing guidelines at all times. We are fortunate to have plenty of space (indoors and out) and will provide appropriately spaced out seating and tables. Residents and staff need to be careful how they move in between all the rooms, up and down stairs, and along corridors to bedrooms. Please navigate these areas alone or with the person with whom you are sharing a room, whilst trying to make sure no-one else is in that space. There are plenty of places to move aside or “give way” to another guest if you do meet someone.

Hand sanitiser and personal protective equipment (PPE)

Our staff will be wearing some PPE when working and at all times when handling food. We ask that guests use the disposable gloves provided when using the honesty bar and kitchenette in the studio.
Plenty of hand sanitisers will be provided in communal areas, with soap and paper towels at all wash basins.

Breakfast

Breakfast will be continental style; guests will choose from a menu and it will either be delivered to your room or a specific table at the allotted time.

Dinner

Dinner will be served on “distanced” tables. Our staff will place your chosen meal at the table prior to guests sitting down. Tables will be cleared by the staff when the dining rooms are empty after the meal.

Honesty bar

Disposable gloves must be worn whilst using the honesty bar

Art studio

We have a large airy studio and everybody will be suitably distanced at separate tables. Tape on the floor will mark corridors. Tutors’ demonstrations will be streamed live onto a large television screen down one end of the studio enabling everyone to see from a distance.

Light lunch / tea & coffee

There is a kitchenette adjacent to the studio with tea and coffee available. Disposable plates and paper cups, plastic cutlery provided. Light lunch refreshments can be ordered the evening before, and will be delivered on separate covered disposable plates each day. (Ham, cheese, roll, butter, tomatoes and one piece of fruit) One person at a time (or two from the same household) to be in the kitchenette at any one time.

Travel for “en plein air” painting

Sharing a car with others will not be possible, so please be prepared to travel alone (or with a member of your household) to outdoor locations.

Check out / departure

We will email you or provide you with a bill to approve prior to your departure. We ask that your room is vacated by 10.00am
